Learning About Troop 14 and ScoutingThis is a fact sheet introducing Boy Scouting. Here are some ways to help. The Troop 14 Board of Review Guide provides suggestions for parents participating in this important advancement activity for the Scouts. All rank and merit badge requirements are here. The Adult Membership Form is needed if you are going to participate in a formal way. You can put your job skills or hobby to use helping a great group of Scouts by becoming
a Merit Badge Counselor. Merit Badge Counselor Application. Here is an Introductory Guide for Merit Badge Counselors. The merit badge counselor is a key player in the Boy Scout advancement program. You can also participate by joining the Troop 14 Committee. Coordinating Troop 14 activities, advancement, and funds, it is open to all parents and meets monthly. Please check the calendar for the next meeting. There are a lot of opportunities to help with camping trips. Of course, we can always use drivers, but if you've never gone camping, or it's been too long since your last trip, come along with Troop 14 on a visit to the Great Outdoors. It's a great way to gain some new memories, learn new skills, and have fun doing it! The training begins with the Fast Start Program (now on-line) for Boy Scouts and for Venturing. In order to receive your "Trained" patch, you must complete Basic Leader Training. A lot of out adult training ideas come from the Troop W.I.S.E. training program, found here. Resources for Adult Leaders from the National Organization.
